About This Pattern

Hansu means "water" - the source of all life that preserves and nurtures all creatures. Water is essential for the existence of all living things on earth.

The pattern represents the many qualities of water:

  • Birth and Growth: Water nourishes all life from its beginning
  • Strength and Weakness: Water can be gentle or powerful
  • Magnanimity and Harmony: Water adapts to its container
  • Adaptability: Water flows around obstacles
