Taekwondo Prices & Membership
We are a non-profit community club, so our fees only need to cover the hall, insurance and equipment. Your first lesson is completely free — come and try it before you spend anything at all.

What a typical year costs
To give you a realistic idea: a student training most Saturdays — say 40 weeks, allowing for holidays and the occasional week with no training — would pay around £320 in lesson fees, plus £45 membership, plus £40 for each grading they choose to take. Grading two or three times in the year brings the total to roughly £445 to £485.
You are never committed to any of it in advance. If you stop coming, you stop paying.
Membership
You are covered by the club's own insurance for your first four lessons, so there is nothing to pay up front beyond the lesson fee. Our syllabus is extensive, and we would rather you took three or four lessons to decide whether the club suits you before committing. After that, membership is £45 per year and includes your licence, insurance, membership package and syllabus.
Equipment
For your first few lessons, just wear a T-shirt and jogging bottoms. We train barefoot, so you do not need any footwear. Please do not spend money on training gear until you are sure you want to take up Taekwondo.
When you are ready, a Taekwondo suit (dobok) and sparring equipment can be bought through the club or from any sports shop — it is entirely up to you. We supply kit cheaply and will give you our current price list when you join, so you can compare it against anywhere else before you buy.
How to pay
Lesson fees are paid at the class. We take card payments only — please do not bring cash. If you would like to know about payment for membership or gradings before you come along, just ask us — we are happy to go through it.

Every fee we charge is listed on this page. As a non-profit club we keep costs as low as we can for families, and any excess goes to local registered charities.
