Pattern Meaning

Taegeuk Il Jang represents Keon (Heaven), the creative force and origin of all things. Like heaven gives us rain, light, and life, this first pattern represents the beginning of the Taekwondo journey. The movements are basic but essential, establishing the foundation for all patterns to come.
