Club Safeguarding Statement
As a club that provides services and classes to young persons and adults at risk, we take our safeguarding procedures very seriously. This page is our safeguarding statement; it is not our full safeguarding policy, which is available freely on request from any instructor.
Our safeguarding procedures
We have a full safeguarding policy in place. All instructors are DBS checked to an enhanced level, and Anne Oliver is our appointed Welfare Officer and safeguarding lead.
All instructors hold a relevant safeguarding qualification that helps them identify the need for proper safeguarding protocols and deal with any concerns efficiently and effectively.

Everyone has a responsibility to safeguard. All of our instructors are safeguarding qualified, so you may approach any of them with a concern and they will respond appropriately.
Who is responsible for safeguarding
Everybody has a responsibility to safeguard children and adults at risk from abuse.
Within our club, our Chief Instructor Master William Kay assumes ultimate responsibility for our internal safeguarding procedures and management. Please speak with him about any feedback or questions you have on how we manage and safeguard our members.
Our safeguarding objectives
To create a place that is safe and professional, in which young people, children and adults at risk may participate freely and without fear of abuse or distress. The safety of our members is our number one concern.
Our governing organisation
Springwater Taekwondo is a registered member of the British Martial Arts & Boxing Association (BMABA), a UK organisation that promotes, regulates and develops grass roots martial arts.
