십진 (Sipjin)
About This Pattern
Sipjin derives from the concept of "십장생" (Sipjangsaeng) - the Ten Creatures of Longevity in Korean tradition. These ten symbols represent eternal life, hope, and good fortune:
- Celestial: Sun, Moon
- Natural Elements: Mountain, Water, Stone
- Plants: Pine tree, Herb of eternal youth
- Animals: Tortoise, Deer, Crane
The pattern bestows faith, hope, and love to the practitioner, representing the aspiration for longevity and a harmonious life.
